It features Peak 44’s Blacktooth carbon fiber stock which weighs only 19oz making it one of the lightest production stocks on the market. Equipped with an Accubreak and 3D Hex Recoil pad, the Backcountry 2.0 series manages recoil extremely well even with Weatherby’s historic magnum cartridges. Starting at just 4.7 lbs and 4.9 lbs in magnum chamberings, this is the lightest in the Backcountry 2.0 family. When chambered in 6.5 WBY RPM, it holds the crown as the lightest/fastest hunting rifle on the market. Still equipped with a super thin and lightweight fluted barrel, it is contoured at a #1 MOD or #2 MOD depending on the chambering.

The most noticeable upgrade is the new carbon fiber Peak 44™ Blacktooth™ stock, the lightest versions of which tip the scales at under 20 ounces. Also grabbing the eye is the second generation 3DHEX® recoil pad, the first production 3D printed pad the firearms world has seen. Hidden inside the pad are a series of interlocking voids that progressively collapse during recoil, deadening the sharp kick of magnum chamberings.

More pronounced spiral fluting on the bolt body not only trims a little weight, it also reduces bearing surface within the action and results in even smoother function. The newly-threaded bolt handle is equipped with a lightweight aluminum extended and skeletonized knob.

Fit with the highly-effective Accubrake® ST, with 30 symmetrically-spaced ports that help harness the recoil, it tames even magnum chamberings and makes them pleasant to shoot.

All Mark V® rifles are guaranteed to shoot a 3-shot group of .99” or less at 100 yards (SUB-MOA) from a cold barrel when used with Weatherby® factory or premium ammunition within Two-Years of Verified Purchase Date to Original Purchaser.

TriggerTech Trigger

TriggerTech’s trigger provides true zero-creep break, extremely short over-travel, and is externally adjustable. Precision cut stainless steel components ensure consistent trigger pulls from shot to shot in a safe, reliable, and corrosion resistant package.

Accubrake ST

By adding an Accubrake ST you will significantly reduce felt recoil up to 53%. Available in four different barrel diameters, with thread protector, for a perfect brake-to-barrel contour.

54 Degree Bolt

The shortest in the industry (as compared to typical 90 bolt throw). Allows for faster chambering on follow-up shots and greater bolt-to-scope clearance.

Deep Fluted Bolt

A larger radius, deeper flute not only trims a bit more weight from the bolt body of the Mark V, it also increases the smoothness with which the bolt can be cycled.

Carbon Fiber Stock

Sourced from Peak 44, this stock has the distinction of being the lightest production aerospace-grade carbon fiber stock on the market. Industry-leading manufacturing techniques, patented bedding technology and the addition of the 3DHEX recoil-reducing buttpad mean this is one of the most advanced lightweight stocks to date.

3DHEX Recoil Reducer

Large caliber felt recoil dissipation provided in the lightest recoil reducer available. 3DHEX is a patent pending high strength energy diffusing lattice structure designed to distribute specific directional forces and reduce muzzle lift.

Titanium Receiver

Titanium properties present 42% the weight of traditional steel which provides maximum weight savings for the hunter looking to save every ounce while maintaining structural integrity.
