Great rifle, I haven’t got to shoot it yet but if it’s anything like my other Weather beat it will be a tack driver. Plus it looks great too I love the weight and feel of it

I tried a friends vanguard dg and ordered my own the next day , i am planning an Australian hunt for water buffalo and an African hunt this year as well and this is a go to rifle and go to cartridge for any dangerous game

Just purchased this rifle in July 2016 and by Nov 2016 I was in Africa. This is a beautiful rifle. The stock is gorgeous! The best part of this rifle is that it is very accurate. I took two cape buffalo, a hippo, a giraffe and a nyala.

Even if you do not need a .375 H&H tomorrow, buy one of these to have on hand.

This is my fourth Weatherby, and I could not be more pleased with this particular rifle. An NIB version came up on the web for a competitive price. I bought it, because the .375 H&H cartridge is legendary for big North American and all African game. Anyone wishing to take on nasty critters without the wallop of .400+ recoil, should have one around. I bought it for a grizzly hunt, but appreciate its application for plains game in Africa and up to the Big Five.

Now, the good news. For a reasonably priced firearm, the Vanguard Dangerous Game Rifle shoots great! I shot cover leafs at 50 yards with Hornady 300 grain DGX and DGS loads. Incredibly, this rifle also shot sub-MOA at 100 yards with offerings from Remington and Federal.

You really don’t need that kind of accuracy to hit those big DG targets, but it shows you the quality of workmanship that goes into the Vanguard DG rifle. By the way, fit and finish would make Roy himself proud.

This rifle is light and points well to boot.

    Best Regards,

    Tuxedoparkdog

Buy me a good hard case, because I’m the Vanguard Safari and when I’m bouncing around in the back of a Landcruiser in Zimbabwe, I don’t want my optics affecting where I put the bullet.
