Avery beautiful rifle. Mine is in .243 and consistently deliver 5 shot MOA accuracy. I have attached pics along with my best sub MOA 5 shot group target. What a rifle!

  2. Billy

Absolutely Beautifully done rifle. I got my Lazerguard in a .308 only because of the cartridge being readily available and relatively inexpensive, good all purpose hunting round. I love the blueing on the rifle, the look of the stock, the feel and finish. It’s a great rifle and accurate as claimed by manufacturer, I love the trigger. The Vanguard gives you exceptional value and everything you need for an awesome hunting rifle without breaking the bank.

Beautifully finished rifle! I’m considering purchasing a Mark V Deluxe in 6.5-300 now just cause! I remember looking at these in gun mags when I was a kid and marvelling at the finish. It also puts em all under an inch all day. Only blemish is inside the trigger guard when the metal wasn’t smoothed out before finishing. No big deal as no one can see it. Wouldn’t mind an email from Weatherby though addressing issue. Otherwise it’s flawless.

Great value for your dollar. Mine is in 257. My mark v deluxe has nothing on the fit and finish of this vanguard. Sub moa and the best looking gun on the market.

  5. Michael

This is my go to gun i have it in .257 and it’s amazing I’m shooting 2” groups at 300 yards

Bought my Lazerguard 308 in December of 2014 as an early Christmas and Graduation present. Mounted a Vortex Diamondback 3×9 40 mm scope on it and sighted it in at 200 yards. Was able to group shots at 100 yards within 1 in circle. Trigger is crisp, action is smooth and this rifle is a dream to handle. Glad I bought it.

Beautiful rifle and fun to carry in the woods, albeit on the heavy side after a day of hiking in the Colorado Mountains. Do not like the factory 2 stage trigger system at all for carrying in the woods. At the range it is fine because one can take the time necessary to get used to the trigger creep and still shoot quarter sized groups. But in the field, the factory trigger is a handicap for the hunter as the trigger creep causes quick shots to be high,as the gun fires before the shooter is ready. The last thing you want in the field is a trigger that you have to second guess before making the shot that counts. I expected much more from a Weatherby product.

I have two of them. The first, I convinced my wife that SHE wanted. She got the .308, but was put off by the recoil, so I bought a .223 for her and she’s been happy ever since. Between the time when she bought the .308 and when she actually came to the range to shoot it, I acquired a 300 Wby Mag. Both rifles are exceptional values. They are beautiful, while functioning flawlessly. One reviewer mentioned creep in the trigger. Neither of mine have it. They’re crisp as glass. They shoot sub MOA groups as long as you don’t get them hot (read the manual). Once cooled, POI went back to exactly where it was 30 minutes before. They’re gorgeous, sexy and wonderfully economical. I wish I could buy Lazerguard stocks to put my .257 and .338 Win Mag Vanguards in. They are truly things of beauty and they shoot about as perfectly as one can imagine, right out of the box.

I own 4 out of the 5 calibers and have fitted all 4 with leupold scopes. I just wish they would offer the lazerguard in 223 caliber.

  10. mudhole

Most amazing rifle I have ever owned in my life and just flat out beautiful would love for weatherby to do one in a 223

  11. Timr245

Picked my Lazerguard up in July. After a few months of piecing it together with a Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14×50 30mm & Weatherby gold Flying W rings, I finally shot it this weekend. I can’t express how pleased I am with this thing. After only 5 shots from the boresighting to a perect bull @ 100 it was on to test loads. First 3 shots .4125″ group. Next load, 3 shots .750″ group. How could you spend a better $1050 on a rifle? I’ve adjusted the trigger down and my only complaint is the creep, eliminate this and you have what I feel is the best rifle you buy for just a touch over a grand!

  12. Spike

I purchased this in 30 06. The stock is fantastic for the price! Mine shoots MOA all day long. Only regret is I didn’t get one in 300weatherby.

  13. Tim

I purchased the Vanguard Lazerguard in .257 Weatherby because it was just too good looking to pass by.The figure on the stock is amazing and I like the laser carved oak leaf motif. Little did I know that it would also shoot sub-MOA groups . The fit and finish on this firearm is extraordinary, and it has proven to be as accurate as it is attractive. Smooth action and a wonderful trigger make it a joy to shoot. Added a Zeiss scope with Talley rings and I was in the x-ring in less than 5 shots.I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

I’m handsome. There, I said it. In fact, many would say I’m the most attractive Vanguard in the lineup. With my AA-grade stock, I’m also incomparably distinctive since no two pieces of Claro Walnut ever look the same, which I think is pretty awesome.

Where Claro walnut beauty meets Weatherby brawn, I am there, with marked style as unique as your own. I become an heirloom the moment you take me home.

Buy me a good hard case, because I’m the Vanguard Safari and when I’m bouncing around in the back of a Landcruiser in Zimbabwe, I don’t want my optics affecting where I put the bullet.
